Mobula Ray Belly Flops

Out on the paddleboard today and we were surrounded by jumping mobula rays. This is a long vignette of just some of the action. I googled to find out the reasons they jump and an article from Scuba Diver Life listed some of the reasons they do this:

1. Part of their mating ritual

2. Cleaning parasites off their body

3. Just for fun

4. As a form of communication
